John P. Kern, proud of his strong family ties, was born to a large family of eight children in Queens, New York. He learned early on that relationships are important. At age two, his family moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico, and then the Kerns finally settled in Florida, where John has called home since 1969. Building strong relationships is one of the many values Kern upholds and applies in his professional and personal life.
Through management positions in the food service and plumbing service industries, Kern has always lead his teams to perform to the highest standards. It was through an opportunity in network marketing that brought Kern from Titusville, FL, to South Florida. There, Kern saw an opportunity for professional growth and decided to pursue a career in real estate.
In 1998, Kern earned his real estate license and then his broker’s license in 2004. Kern served on the management team of Coldwell Banker, with over 100 agents, from 1999 to 2003. From 2004 to 2007, he served as Team Leader and Director of Training and Operations for over 230 agents at Keller Williams Realty. Then in 2008, Kern joined with two partners to build Platinum Properties which is now a division of Keyes Luxury Real Estate and has lead a team of approximately 80 agents and five offices.
In addition to Kern’s distinguished real estate career, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches from 2010–2016 which has over 14,000 Realtor members. From 2010 to present, Kern has served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Association of Realtors which has over 160,000 Realtor members. In 2012, Kern was awarded the prestigious Broker of the Year by the Realtors of the Palm Beaches.
John has been married to Dr. Jacqueline Kern, an educator, since 1998. They welcomed their son, John Jr., in 2002. John and his family live in beautiful Jupiter, FL, where they enjoy boating on “The Kernsy”. Kern and his son are active golfers, fishermen and they fly their Drones. The family supports their local chapter of Coastal Conservation Association. Kern is also a Mason, a Shriner and a member of his local church. Kern can be seen cruising the Abacoa neighborhoods on his electric long board with the family rescue dog, Weaver, by his side.
